Men At Work

The guys have been working really hard on the interior build out of the bike shop, and are making awesome progress. Here's some pictures I have taken along the way:

There have been a lot of friends and family who have jumped in to help and give support, which is much appreciated! And, yes, apparently Dexter wanted to help out as well!

It's really real!

Well Ladies and Gentleman...it's official! Lake Town Bicycles has begun advertising! For those of you who don't know- my husband and his cousin, Phil are going to open a bike shop. I have yet to post anything about this exciting venture because it hasn't really seemed real to me I guess... until now.

The guys have been working really hard to get everything in order, and today they officially announced to the world that they are on their way! The shop is located on 9000 south and 1500 west, and will be opening in May. Yee Haw!

Good times, good times

Alrighty, we've been kind of busy lately, so this is going to be a three-themed post! For starters, two weekends ago we had the lovely privilege of going to Moab with Will's cousins Phil, John, John's wife Brittany, our friend Josh, and of course - our dogs; Molly & Dexter, and the the Gunther's dogs; Rocky & Jackson. It was a quick trip, but packed with fun. This was the first camping trip for the pups and they were in heaven. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment:

This past weekend, a girl that I work with (Ashley) rented out "Classic Skating" and hosted a Disco Roller-Boogie birthday party. It was technically for her birthday, but she was kind enough to share the celebrations with myself and Tiffany, since our birthdays all fall within a few days of each other. She asked me to make the cake for the festivities, so I came up with a little disco design that was a blast to create. The best part of the night was watching my husband - apparently he is an amazing roller skater!!! He had all the sweet disco moves down, and looked like he had just stepped out of the 70's. Check him out!:

Last but not least...Brandi and Schuyler are having a girl!!! A whole slew of us went with them to the ultrasound - her Mom, Grandma, sister-in-law Malorie, myself and Schuyler were all present to stare anxiously at the monitor while the doctor navigated us around the babies healthy brain, heart, lungs, hands, feet, and finally proclaimed that it was a girl! She is due July 6th, and we can't wait for little Shea Pricilla to enter the world. Congrats Pack family!

Our Little Zoo

Well, our little family has just recently added two new members - no, I'm not pregnant with twins - we have a new parakeet and a new puppy! Yep, there are now 6 of us. Let me explain. You see, when our beloved little Petie flew the coup, not only were Will and I depressed, but so was Petie's little yellow buddy, Lois. I was telling some of the girls at work about how lonely she was, and that we were thinking about trying to find another friend for her. As luck would have it my co-worker, Judy, just happened to have a parakeet that she wanted to find a new home for. She had had him for about 6 years and had spent a lot of time with him, until her two kids came along. Now she has very little time for him and felt that he was probably a little lonely too. Wa La. Meet Phil.
As for the puppy, we originally got him with the intentions of giving him to my brother Jimmie and his girlfriend Stephanie for Christmas. To make a long story short, we got attatched - and we realized that they might not be in the best position for a new puppy right now. We knew when we got Molly that we eventually wanted to get a second dog - it just happened sooner rather than later. Here's Dexter! So there you have it... our zoo is complete... for now anyway :)

The Name Game

Last night, after studying every feature of our puppy and doing some research on the internet, we came to the conclusion that she may be a pure-bred staffie after all. It turns out there are a few different variations on the breed. The most popular are the English version, which is what we originally were drawn to. They look like this:

There is another version called the American Staffordshire, they are a little larger and have more of a pitbull looking face:

Finally, the Irish Staffordshire bull terrier:

As you can see, they have a leaner body, a longer snout, and their haunches are more even with their shoulders. Fascinating, I know. We might be wrong, but it doesn't matter... the point is that we decided since she is Irish, she needs an Irish name! So I am happy to say that "Bob" is now "Molly"!
